John B. Curtis, Jr. is heavily involved in the defense of medical malpractice claims, including claims against physicians, nurses, and long-term care and assisted living facilities. He has successfully tried several malpractice cases to a jury verdict. He has successfully represented numerous long-term care facilities with respect to alleged regulatory violations. His practice has also included the defense of drug and medical device, product liability, employment law, insurance, tort liability, and commercial claims.
Representative Client Work
Obtained jury verdict for a long-term care facility in a case alleging 15 falls over a 13-month admission, with the last fall allegedly causing an intracerebral hemorrhage and death. Plaintiff had asked the jury to award $40 million in compensatory damages, plus punitive damages.
Obtained jury verdict for a long-term care facility in a case alleging the sexual assault and death of an elderly female resident.
Obtained summary judgment for a Georgia long-term care facility.
Obtained jury verdict for emergency physician and nurse practitioner in a case involving wound infection after treatment in the Emergency Department.
