Paul R. Leitner is the Senior Member of the Firm now known as Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan, PLLC which dates back to June 12, 1882.  He has represented a number of major insurance companies and businesses, including a number of the Fortune 500 corporations.  His litigation experience includes claims in product liability, business and commercial disputes, contract construction liability, tort liability, drug and medical device defense for several of the major pharmaceutical companies.

Representative Client Work

Represented Nordyne and obtained jury verdict in Federal District Court for Nordyne, manufacturer of HVAC, which allegedly destroyed the value of a new home with soot.

Represented Miller Meat Company in multi-million dollar litigation involving the alleged e.coli death of a child, and which resulted in successful mediation.

Represented GlaxoWellcome and obtained successful settlement for a drug which allegedly killed a middle-aged female.

Represented Wyeth in a case where a drug allegedly caused the death of a teen-aged female, and obtained successful settlement.

Represented BIC Lighter Company in alleged explosion case in U. S. District Court resulting in mis-trial and no payment.

Represented Wyeth Laboratories in case involving cardiac arrest of a 3-month old baby causing permanent and total disability resulting in successful mediation after a jury verdict for defendant.

Represented Westinghouse in an action brought by a buyer of network protector and component parts to recover for damages caused by explosion.

Represented plaintiff construction in a controversy against TVA and recovered $4.5 million after jury trial.

Represented Westinghouse as a plaintiff in action against TVA and recovered value of products which TVA refused to pay for after bench trial.

Represented manufacturer of construction equipment in products case after a rollover made plaintiff a paraplegic and received a defendant's verdict.

Represented Crane Company in a breach of warranties suit after sale of a manufacturing plant.

Represented Luken Steel Company in a Federal jury trial lasting 89 days in which 89 witnesses were presented and succeeded in obtaining a defendant's verdict.

Represented Black Clawson Company, which was a third-party defendant in a wrongful death and multiple injuries case resulting in a jury award of $1,048,000 to plaintiffs and received judgment notwithstanding the verdict for third-party Black Clawson.

Represented American Cyanamide Company in polio vaccine products liability action which was successfully settled in mid-trial.

Represented Cessna Aircraft in a multi-week jury trial which was successfully settled near the end.

Represented Fort Dodge Laboratories, a division of Wyeth, and successfully defended a cattle vaccine after a multi-week trial, resulting in a defendant's verdict.

Represented Cessna Aircraft in a wrongful death products liability action and received jury verdict.

Represented Wyeth in a product liability action trial lasting several days and received a defendant's verdict.

Represented Wyeth in a product liability action in Federal Court and received a defendant's verdict regarding an anesthesia product.

Represented a tractor-trailer owner in an accident involving a vehicle and a wall and successfully shifted burden to wall owner which ended up paying the entire verdict.

Represented owner and operator of tractor-trailer unit and obtained a defendant's verdict in an intersection accident which later was appealed to the Sixth Circuit and sustained.

Counsel of record in over 15 reported decisions in State and Federal Court.

Counsel of record in 2 cases appealed to the United States Supreme Court, briefed, but not argued.
