Mr. Morton is a member of the firm working out of the Nashville, Tennessee office. Born in Cookeville, Tennessee, Mr. Morton attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and graduated from Cumberland School of Law in 2000. He joined the firm in 2002 and became a member of the firm in 2008. Mr. Morton defends cases in many areas of general civil litigation, with a concentration in defense of workers' compensation claims. He routinely lectures Human Resources Departments, Insurance Companies and Self-Insured Employers with regard to workers’ compensation claim administration and changes in the law.

Mr. Morton represents self-insured employers and insurance companies in all aspects of Tennessee Department of Labor (TDOL) administrative proceedings and litigation of workers' compensation claims.
Extensive workers' compensation defense experience including multiple defense verdicts by motion, at trial, and on appeal, involving issues of notice, medical causation, statute of limitations, and fraud.
Significant cases include:
• Defense Judgment for a major construction company at trial and on appeal, receiving refund of all medical and indemnity benefits incorrectly ordered by TDOL.
• Defense Judgment for Fortune 500 trucking company where Court found Plaintiff had self-inflicted injuries by use of a tourniquet.
• Defense Judgment in Permanent Total Disability lawsuit involving defenses of notice, medical causation, and credibility of employee.
He has received multiple dismissals of workers’ compensation claims at Benefit and Administrative Review levels of TDOL.
He currently represents one of the nation’s largest clothing retail and distribution centers, litigating multiple workers’ compensation claims, including gradual, traumatic and catastrophic injuries.
Mr. Morton also represents one of the nation’s largest over-the-road transportation companies and one of the top ten commercial staffing companies in Tennessee workers’ compensation proceedings.
Specific experience also focuses on defending workers’ compensation claims involving spine, Certified Drug-Free Workplace, exposure, and gradually occurring injuries.
