Bruce Gill is an Equity Member of the firm, and his practice concentrates on construction defect litigation, as well as insurance coverage and litigation. In addition, his practice involves defense of various professional disciplines, including attorneys, healthcare providers, pharmacists, and dentists. He has also has considerable experience defending a range of personal injury and wrongful death cases, as well as contract disputes. He has extensive experience in appellate advocacy, including both briefing and oral argument, over a range of issues. He also is involved in estate planning and probate, including contested will litigation and trust litigation.
Representative Client Work
- Defended multiple long-term care facilities, including obtaining defense verdict in two week wrongful death case
- Successfully obtained a directed verdict in a wrongful death case involving an explosion of a rail car
- Prepared dozens of insurance coverage opinions and successfully prosecuted declaratory judgment actions related to issues of insurance coverage
- Litigated competing insurance policies and monitored trials for excess insurance carriers for possible exposure, as well as potential appellate issues
- Participated in approximately 18 appeals, including oral argument in prevailing opinions before the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, Tennessee Supreme Court and multiple Tennessee Courts of Appeals
- Extensive insurance defense practice representing clients in defense of personal injury and wrongful death matters, automobile liability cases, food-borne illness cases, professional liability, employee dishonesty, and premises liability
- Represented client in class action suit involving mishandling of human remains
- Involved in estate planning and probate, including litigation related to enforceability of wills and trusts
